Cargolux's Maintenance and Engineering Division is dedicated to supporting its fleet of 30 Boeing 747-8 and 747-400 freighter aircraft. The team is committed to providing top quality support which is measured by the exceptional dispatch success.
Specialized line hangar and shop teams are the key asset in achieving great results. Cargolux's highly skilled M&E personnel ensure the highest safety standards are complied with throughout maintenance activities.
Resources
M&E's most valuable resource is its skilled and conscientious maintenance work force. The direct maintenance teams working in the line, hangar and shop environments are complemented by engineers, material management, shipping receiving, technical records and employees who support the maintenance operation. The prominence of technical expertise is credited to the company's policy of carefully selecting employees from the industry and maintaining an in-house apprenticeship program for the development of young talents. The apprentice program ensures that dynamic students are able to achieve their ambitions within the aeronautical engineering field.

Facilities
Cargolux's twin-bay widebody hangar is located on the south side of Luxembourg airport. The hangar offers room for two Boeing 747-size widebody aircraft and includes all necessary workshops for a full maintenance service.
It allows Cargolux Maintenance and Engineering to have high-tech tools and an adapted environment to maintain its fleet and strengthen its maintenance capabilities for third party maintenance customers.
The building is 200 meters wide, 90 meters deep and 42 meters high. Its striking architecture has turned it into one of Luxembourg’s landmarks. The facility is also one of the buildings with the largest volume in the Grand-Duchy.
Maintenance Control Center
Cargolux's 24/7 Maintenance Control group oversees the fleet and organizes AOG recovery teams at a moment's notice if required. These services are also available to maintenance customers based on availability.
Shop Facilities
The Cargolux support shops are located within the maintenance hangar, which is ideal for line and hangar support. Shop capability includes dedicated component work and general fleet maintenance support such as specialized well-equipped emergency backup for line and hangar operations.
